Brighton on the 1st of January, 2010.
Exploring.

I was lucky enough to quietly watch a white-faced heron wading through the pools.

Variety and beauty whichever way you look.

Miles and miles of amazing golden sand, and I could make out about half-a-dozen people. For a Dunedin beach I think this constitutes overcrowding.

Lots of rocks to clamber over.

An oystercatcher up high who didn't mind me stopping carefully to watch.
